Avian Goldsmith

My name is Avian J. Goldsmith, and I am the Human Resources Manager, in the School of Pharmacy I have been in the School of Pharmacy since November 2016. Prior to coming to VCU School of Pharmacy, I worked in VCU Human Resources for 8 years in several capacities. I was a HR Operations Analyst, Benefits Specialist and HR Specialist.

In my capacities, I work closely with staff. I chaired the School of Pharmacy's Staff Committee to listen to the needs of our staff, brainstorm ideas, make recommendations to chairs, deans, the Executive Committee and other units as necessary to enhance the functioning of the School and improve working conditions for staff and work collaboratively towards a common goal. I understand the importance of bringing a representative group of stakeholders to the table to develop goals and long‐range strategic planning.

I believe that it is vital to the VCU and VCU Health, for staff to be involved, represented and be invested in the decisions that are being made to meet the current and future needs of the entire institutional community. I would be honored to be a member of the VCU Staff Senate. If I am selected for the committee, I will be diligent about that responsibility and will do my level best to make positive and meaningful contributions.

Thank you for your consideration of my nomination.
