Adjunct Faculty Grant Application for Research/Creative Work and Professional Development

  • VCUarts provides financial support for adjunct faculty research, creative/scholarly work and professional development. Adjunct-faculty funding requests are held to standards comparable to full- time faculty. Funding of $15,000 is available during both the fall and spring semesters, a total of $30,000 annually. Proposals are accepted on a rolling basis during the fall and spring semester schedules.

Eligibility: Adjunct faculty must be currently employed in the School of the Arts during the time of the request and performing satisfactorily. If approved, the adjunct faculty’s Chair/Director will confirm the employee is expected to perform services in the department during the semester the funding is requested. Preference will be given to significance of proposal to the school, university and arts community as well as employee’s length of service and receipt of prior funding through this program. Proposals in the range of $500 to $1,000 are suggested in order to accommodate the demand.

Applications will be reviewed by the VCUarts Dean's Leadership team. Applicants can expect notification via VCU email approximately three weeks from receipt of application. Please contact Tracy Leipold at tlleipold@vcu.edu with questions, or if you would like confirmation that your application has been received.
