At the Richmond Metro Zoo Rebecca Procopio reads from a children’s book, Rue has 22q, which she wrote and illustrated for families with children who have 22q11.2 deletion syndrome. She created the book for her Genetic Counseling Master’s project to teach children and families more about the syndrome. The event 22q at the Zoo is a worldwide event developed by The International 22q11.2 Foundation to give families, friends and professionals a chance to socialize, network and raise awareness of 22q11.2 deletion syndrome.
