Evenings at the American Society of Human Genetics Meeting is a good time to catch up and socialize with our alumni who are now located across the country and throughout the world. Pictured from left to right, Dr. Brian Cho (Certificate, 2009) currently a resident at John Hopkins University, Dr. Rita Shiang, Dr. Stephen Williams (PhD, 2010) works for 10X Genomics in San Francisco, California, Dr. Jia Yan (PhD, MSGC, 2012) and her son Penn, she works as a genetic counselor at Johns Hopkins University, a colleague of Dr. Amr, Dr. Hana Zouk, Dr. Sami Amr (PhD, 2005) Director of the Translational Genomics Core at Partners Healthcare in Boston, Massachusetts, Dr. Belal Azab (PhD, 2011) a faculty at Jordan University of Science and Technology and Dr. Kate Shows (Postdoctoral Fellow, 2008) a faculty member at Virginia State University.

Hayley Walston, a MS student, is inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society at a ceremony held at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Phi Kappa Phi is the nation’s oldest multidisciplinary honor society.
