The College of Humanities and Sciences is pleased to welcome Mary Riddick as its next director of development beginning August 10. Riddick comes to CHS from VCU’s School of Social Work where she has served as the director of development for the past four years. During her time with the School of Social Work, Riddick grew engagement opportunities with alums, emeriti faculty, community partners and friends of the school, while also raising millions of dollars for the school and VCU. Prior to joining the School of Social Work, she worked in VCU’s Development and Alumni Relations Annual Giving Office as a program director and a leadership annual giving officer, and at the YMCA of Greater Richmond as the member services director.

Seeing philanthropy as a way to connect individual, corporate and foundation interests with student and community needs, Riddick focuses on building meaningful relationships to create lasting and enduring impact.

She earned a B.A. from Virginia Tech in communications and an M.P.A. from Old Dominion University.

Riddick will lead the development team, which includes Caitlin Hanbury, assistant director of community affairs, and Anne Cabot Galeski, major gift officer.
