Located on approximately 500 acres along the historic James River, the Rice Rivers Center is home to a modern, environmentally sustainable research station and a 22-bed overnight lodge surrounded by varied aquatic and terrestrial habitats. Center for the Study of Biological Complexity
The Center for the Study of Biological Complexity, housed on the third floor of the Grace E. Harris Hall, is an interdisciplinary research and training program focused on applying discovery science, systems biology and the principles of complexity to problems in the areas of genomics, proteomics and computational bioinformatics.
Center for Environmental Studies
The Center for Environmental Studies is the focal point for environmental studies research and instruction at Virginia Commonwealth University. The center provides more than 30 distinguished cooperating faculty, expansive environmental training opportunities and a geographic information systems library.
