Pedestrian Safety

The high volume of pedestrian and vehicular traffic around VCU requires that everyone understands and follows the rules. The VCU Police Department strongly urges pedestrians to use crossing signals, crosswalks and traffic devices. Think about safety before crossing any street.

Virginia law states that pedestrians should cross, wherever possible, only at intersections or marked crosswalks. Avoid stepping out from between parked vehicles where the street is not marked. View more details on traffic laws.

Remember: Look out for each other. Share the responsibility.
