H. Benson Dendy III, Rector
President, Vectre Corporation
As a senior staff member for Governrs Charles S. Robb and Gerald L. Baliles, H. Benson Dendy III has held positions as diverse as secretary of the commonwealth, secretary to the governor’s cabinet and special assistant to the governor. He began his career in state government in 1978 as a legislative assistant to the lieutenant governor. Over the course of seven legislative sessions, he advocated for two governors’ agendas in the General Assembly. He served on transition committees for Governors Mark Warner and Terry McAuliffe.
Mr. Dendy has been appointed and reappointed to the board of trustees of the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation, a state agency, by six Virginia governors of both parties. He served as chairman of the board of trustees for over eight years. In 2003, he was appointed by the Secretary of the Interior to the federal Jamestown 400th Commemoration Commission and served as the federal commission’s vice chairman. He served as a Vice Chair of the 2019 Commemoration Steering Committee. He currently serves on the American Revolution 250 Comission.
Mr. Dendy served on the board of directors of the Containerization & Intermodal Institute. In 2002, he was appointed by Governor Mark Warner to the Council on the Southern Community of the Southern Growth Policies Board. He served on the board of trustees of the Valentine Richmond History Center for 14 years and has been a director of the Virginia YMCA. He served on the board of directors of the Maymont Foundation. He is a former member of the board of trustees of the American Council of Young Political Leaders, a core grantee of the U.S. Department of State that conducts international exchange programs for young governmental leaders. He has been a member of the honorary council to the St. George’s Foundation in Bermuda. Mr. Dendy also has extensive experience in helping international corporations develop business in the United States.
In addition to serving as president of The Vectre Corporation, Mr. Dendy is also a member of its board of directors. He has served as chairman of The Advocacy Group, the premier municipal, state, federal and international government and public affairs organization in the world, and currently serves on its board of directors. Mr. Dendy was one of the first 24 government relations professionals nationwide to complete the State Government Affairs Council’s professional certificate program in 2012.
Mr. Dendy graduated from the University of Richmond, magna cum laude, and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. A member of Second Presbyterian Church, Mr. Dendy has served as an elder. He and his late wife, Stacey, have three children. The family enjoys skiing at Wintergreen and spending time in the summer at Virginia Beach.
Carolina Espinal, Vice Rector
founding principal of Mozaic Strategies
Carolina Espinal is the Founding Principal of Mozaic Strategies, an advisory working to support the creation of more inclusive culture in and outside the workplace.
As a senior advisor to leaders in political, advocacy, and corporate organizations, Ms. Espinal delivers insight-driven knowledge and experience to inform strategies for communications, stakeholder engagement and thought leadership. Her dynamic expertise in Diversity & Inclusion, Public Affairs and Reputation Management, combined with a passion for community - in all its forms, are the hallmarks of her solutions-focused approach to helping clients reach their goals.
Most recently, Ms. Espinal was a senior advisor at Brunswick Group, a global strategic communications advisory, where she led the Inclusion & Diversity practice. She began her career as a civil rights advocate working on behalf of communities of color at Unidos US and later leading the NAACP’s national civic engagement policy platform.
Ms. Espinal received a B.A. in Foreign Affairs and Latin American Studies in 2000 from the University of Virginia, and an Ed.M. with a concentration in Administration, Planning, and Social Policy from Harvard University in 2003.
Ms. Espinal resides in the metropolitan Washington, DC area.
former executive vice president and chief marketing officer for the National Basketball Association
Pamela El is currently CEO of Pam El Consulting that she started upon her retirement from the National Basketball Association (NBA). She is a marketing veteran and is the former Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at the National Basketball Association, where she was responsible for global marketing for the NBA, WNBA, and NBA G League. Ms. El has more than 30 years of experience, and is best known for her ability to modernize brands. She is recognized as an industry leader for her expertise in brand management, marketing strategy, creative development, and media and sponsorships.
Prior to joining the NBA in 2014, Ms. El served as Senior Vice President of Financial Brand Marketing for Nationwide Insurance. Prior to joining Nationwide Insurance, she spent more than a decade with State Farm Insurance as Marketing Vice President where she led sales and marketing strategy for the U.S. and Canada. Earlier in her career, she held positions with Terabeam Corp. in Seattle, U.S. West Communications in Denver, and the Martin Agency in Phoenix and Richmond. Ms. El began her marketing career in 1983 with Siddall, Matus & Coughter in Richmond, VA.
Ms. El is a 1983 graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a degree in Mass Communications. In 2018, she was inducted into VCU Robertson School of Media and Culture’s Virginia Communications Hall of Fame.
Ms. El currently serves on the board of the Ad Council and ChildFund International. She is a mainstay of industry publications, award lists, and conference keynotes and panels.
Peter Farrell is Managing Partner of Tuckahoe Holdings.
Previously, he was an Associate at Cary Street Partners. He is a founding member of Recast Energy, LLC. Mr. Farrell represented the 56th District in Virginia’s House of Delegates from 2012 to 2018, serving on the Courts of Justice, Education, Finance, General Laws, Health and Commerce, and Labor committees.
Mr. Farrell earned an MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University and an undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia.
He currently serves on the boards of Cristo Rey and the Virginia Museum of History and Culture.
He resides in Henrico County with his wife and two children.
Andrew C. Florance founded CoStar Group in 1987, fundamentally changing the way commercial real estate professionals access, use and share information. Through CoStar, Mr. Florance pioneered the concept of commercial real estate firms outsourcing research functions to a third-party information provider, combining the operational efficiencies of a computer-based information system with the more thorough, standardized and higher quality property information produced by the industry’s first independent research organization.
Mr. Florance’s enduring commitment to innovation has been repeatedly recognized by Forbes magazine, which has named CoStar among the 100 Most Innovative Growth Companies in the world, as well as one of Forbes Fast Tech 25 and one of Fortune magazine’s 100 Fastest Growing Companies. Mr. Florance has co-authored a number of academic articles on commercial real estate economics and received Best Manuscript Prize Awards and the Scholar Practitioner Prize from the American Real Estate Society. He is active in education having served on six school boards over 28 years. He served on the board of several public company boards and six non-profit boards. Mr. Florance is currently the Chair of the Board of the Cathedral Chapter overseeing the Washington National Cathedral and sits on the board of the Protestant Episcopal Cathedral Foundation, the American Real Estate Society and Management Leadership for Tomorrow, a nonprofit that develops diverse leaders.
Mr. Florance is a graduate of Princeton University with a B.A. in Economics and received an honorary doctorate from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2019.
Todd P. Haymore
Managing director, global economic development, commerce and government relations, Hunton & Williams
Todd P. Haymore leads Hunton Andrews Kurth’s Global Economic development, Commerce and Government Relations practice group. Having worked at the intersection of business and government in various public- and private-sector leadership positions, he provides strategic advice and helps guide companies through the most vexing challenges relating to business expansion or relocation within Virginia, throughout the United States, and abroad.
Mr. Haymore previously served as Virginia’s Secretary of Commerce & Trade and Secretary of Agriculture & Forestry under Governors Terry McAuliffe and Bob McDonnell, and Commissioner of the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services under Governor Tim Kaine. In these roles, he worked to promote Virginia businesses here and abroad and attracted domestic and foreign business investments to Virginia. Mr. Haymore also partnered with private-sector companies, regional entities and local, state and federal government officials to grow exports from Virginia and implement economic development strategies, including the creation of new and highly impactful economic development incentive programs.
Prior to his service in state government, Mr. Haymore held several leadership positions in the private sector, including serving as head of external affairs, government relations, and corporate communications for two Fortune 1000 companies, Universal Leaf Tobacco Company and DIMON Incorporated. Mr. Haymore also led Universal’s foundation, working with colleagues to devise and execute strategies to improve the company’s philanthropic efforts. In addition, Mr. Haymore served as a key legislative and communications advisor to former U.S. Congressman L. F. Payne.
Regarded as a leader in economic development in Virginia, Mr. Haymore is a member of the Washington Airports Task Force Board of Directors, the Virginia Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and the Virginia FREE Board of Directors. He earned his master of business administration from Virginia Commonwealth University and received his bachelor of arts from the University of Richmond.
A Danville-Pittsylvania County native, Mr. Haymore resides in Henrico County with his wife, Margaret, and three daughters.
Gopinath Jadhav, M.D.

Dr. Gopinath Jadhav is a retired gastroenterologist who served the communities of Petersburg, Hopewell and Colonial Heights for more than 25 years.
Dr. Jadhav’s professional history also includes several gubernatorial appointments and honors. He served 8 years (2004-2012) as a Board Member of the Virginia State Board of Medicine having been appointed by then- Governors Mark Warner and Tim Kaine. In addition, then-Governor Kaine also appointed Dr. Jadhav in in 2006 to the Virginia Health Information Technology Council where he served a three-year term ending in 2009. Dr. Jadhav has also served a one-year term as a member of the Board of Directors of the Federation of State Medical Boards Foundation.
Dr. Jadhav received his M.B.B.S. from the University of Madras, India, where he was awarded both a Gold Medal for Proficiency in Medicine and a Certificate of Honor for Proficiency in Social and Preventive Medicine. He completed a Fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Connecticut Hospital in Farmington, Connecticut. He was Board Certified as a diplomat in the American Board of Internal Medicine in 1981 and is a fellow of the American College of Physicians.

Edward L. McCoy
President and CEO, Eaheart Industrial Service Inc.
Edward L. McCoy is President and CEO of Eaheart Industrial Service, Inc., a material handling equipment company headquartered in Richmond, Va. Eaheart is a dealer for Caterpillar, Mitsubishi and Jungheinrich equipment. Eaheart also designs and installs engineered warehouse storage systems. He is also the primary owner of New Virginia Tractor, a John Deere agricultural dealership.
Mr. McCoy is active in the Richmond community and has served on the Mayor’s Advisory Board, the board of directors for the Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce and the board of directors for Richmond Renaissance. He served on the board of directors for Maggie L. Walker Governors School and was a governor-appointed commissioner for the Virginia Housing Development Association board. He currently serves on the Richmond Management Round Table and on the board of directors of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. McCoy is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, and resides in Richmond, Virginia.
Rev. Tyrone E. Nelson
Pastor, Sixth Mount Zion Baptist Church
Rev. Tyrone E. Nelson serves as the seventh pastor of Sixth Mount Zion Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia. His ministry started with his service as a youth minister for two churches and the position of director of youth and evangelism ministries for the Baptist General Convention of Virginia. Rev. Nelson has been the recipient of several awards, most recently the 2017 Alpha Phi Alpha Community Service Award.
Sixth Mount Zion Baptist Church, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the Virginia Landmarks Register, has more than 150 years of rich history yet continues to adapt to the needs of the 21st century. With Rev. Nelson as leader, the congregation has focused on addressing issues impacting the underserved in the community. Outreach efforts include canceling worship in order for members to do random acts of kindness and hosting conferences that address topics such as domestic violence.
Rev. Nelson has a heart for working to meet the needs of people, especially those who are overlooked and under-privileged. In November 2011, the Rev. Nelson was elected by the citizens of Henrico County (Varina District) to serve as its supervisor. He is the first African-American elected official in the district’s history and only the second African-American supervisor in Henrico County. He has served as board chairperson and vice-chair.
Since being elected, Rev. Nelson oversaw the construction of the new Varina Library, advocated for Team Excel's move to the "old" Varina Library, opened An Achievable Dream Academy at Highland Springs Elementary School, started the Henrico Citizens Academy, led effort to purchase 100 acres for the Sports Park in Sandston.
A native of Richmond, after completing his public school education, the Rev. Nelson earned his Associate of Science in business administration from J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College, a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master of Divinity from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University. Rev. Nelson and his wife, Sharaza, have three children: Tyrone Jr., Sydney, and Makenzie.
Keith T. Parker is president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Goodwill of North Georgia. One of the largest nonprofit organizations in the southeast, Goodwill spans a 45-county territory, operating 60 stores, 58 donation centers and 13 career centers. Goodwill employs nearly 3,000 people, each of whom play a direct or supporting role in the organization’s donated goods retail operations and its career services. Annually, Goodwill collects upwards of 2.5 million donations and serves more than 7 million shoppers. Through the revenue generated in its stores, the organization is able to connect tens of thousands of North Georgians to jobs each year. Parker took the helm at Goodwill of North Georgia in October 2017. Prior to transitioning into his leadership role at Goodwill, Parker served as CEO of the largest transit systems in several cities, including San Antonio, Charlotte and most recently, Atlanta.
Throughout his career, Parker has received numerous awards and accolades for his work as an organizational leader and transportation visionary. He won Texas CEO of the Year Awards in 2011 and 2012. He was recognized as the nation’s Outstanding Public Transportation Manager by the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) in 2015. METRO Magazine named Parker as one of its 20 Most Influential People of the Decade. In 2016, Parker was appointed by President Barack Obama to serve on the National Infrastructure Advisory Council (NIAC). In November the same year, he was named one of eight Public Officials of the Year by Governing magazine. In August 2017, Parker was selected as one of Atlanta’s Most Admired CEOs by Atlanta Business Chronicle.
A native of Petersburg, Virginia, Parker was appointed to the Virginia Commonwealth University Board of Visitors by Governor Terry McAuliffe in 2016. Parker received VCU’s Alumni Star Award in 2015.
Parker served on the board of directors for Goodwill of San Antonio and Goodwill of North Georgia. He remains active and engaged in civic and charitable organizations, including service on various national and local boards of directors – such as The Eno Center for Transportation and Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau. Parker holds an MBA from the University of Richmond, as well as a Master of Urban and Regional Planning and a BA in Political Science from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Dr. Tonya Parris-Wilkins is the Dental Director for the Bland Ministry Center in Bland, Virginia. During her tenure, she has supervised the expansion of dental services to the underserved citizens of Southwest Virginia via the opening of Big Walker Dentistry, a charitable, 5-operatory state of the art facility. In addition, she currently serves as an adjunct dental faculty member at Wytheville Community College supervising the clinical work of hygiene students. Previously, she owned and operated Southside Family and Cosmetic Dentistry in Colonial Heights, Virginia. She was featured in the EVB Potential of Women Entrepreneurs Realized (P.O.W.E.R) campaign which recognizes successful female business owners across the state of Virginia. Prior to private practice, Dr. Parris-Wilkins oversaw the dental program of the largest federally qualified health center organization in Virginia--Central Virginia Health Services (CVHS). During her tenure with CVHS, the dental program expanded from 4 to 10 sites and doubled the number of those in need that received treatment. Dr. Parris-Wilkins began her career as an Assistant Professor in the Department of General Practice at VCU’s School of Dentistry.
In 2015, she was appointed to the Virginia Board of Dentistry by Governor Terry McAuliffe, ascending to the presidency in 2018.
In 2012, Dr. Parris-Wilkins created the Parris Wilkins Scholarship, the first endowed scholarship within the dental school to benefit African-American students.
Dr. Parris-Wilkins obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of William and Mary and her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. She completed a general practice residency at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry and a Fellow of the American Association of Hospital Dentists.
Dr. Parris-Wilkins resides in Wytheville, Virginia with her husband Joe (M.S.P.T. ’01, D.P.T. ’07 and M.S.H.A. ’11) and their three children.
Coleen Santa Ana is the President of Sentara Obici Hospital which encompasses three Suffolk campuses in Isle of Wight County, VA. Sentara Obici Hospital is a 175-bed facility that includes integrated medical office buildings, as well as various ambulatory services including an ambulatory surgery center. The newly expanded Sentara BelleHarbour campus in North Suffolk includes a 24-hour freestanding emergency department, ambulatory surgery center, advanced imaging center and medical offices. Sentara St. Luke’s is an outpatient campus in Isle of Wight County.
Prior to her role at Sentara Obici, in fewer than five years Coleen led the turnaround and integration of Sentara’s most recent acquisition - Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, a 182-bed facility. During her tenure, SAMC achieved significant improvements in safety, quality and financial performance evidenced by the hospital’s first Leapfrog A rating as well as a financial transformation from consecutive -$8 million annual losses to a positive margin. Sentara’s Northeastern North Carolina division has realized success by ultimately delivering patient-centered care, realizing growth through implementation of a smart growth plan that strengthened current services and built new services as well as recruited over 50 new healthcare providers. With the successful turnaround at SAMC, Ms. Santa Ana earned Modern Healthcare’s ‘Up and Comers Award’ in 2018.
Ms. Santa Ana is from Virginia Beach, VA and started her career with Sentara. After graduate school, Ms. Santa Ana pursued a for profit career and served in several roles with Healthcare Corporation of American and Universal Health Services, including Chief Operating Officer prior to returning to Sentara. Prior to her President role with Sentara, Ms. Santa Ana played an integral role as a Corporate Senior Strategist in leading the Sentara Albemarle Medical Center Strategic Plan and facilitated the integration of Sentara’s newest hospital merger.
Ms. Santa Ana received a Master of Health Administration degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2005 and a Bachelor of Science degree from James Madison University in 2001.
Stuart C. Siegel
Former CEO and Chair of the board of S&K Famous Brands, Inc.
A Richmond, Va. native, Mr. Siegel graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C. with a B.S. degree. Until 2009 he served as Chairman of S&K Famous Brands Inc., a value-priced retailer of brand-name menswear which he founded along with his father in 1969.
Mr. Siegel was named Distinguished Retailer of the Year by the Retail Merchants Association of Greater Richmond in 1991 and received the Outstanding Alumni Award from East Carolina University the following year. He has also received the Alumni of the Year Award from Leadership Metro Richmond, the Hall of Fame Award from The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club and the Flame Bearers of Education Award from The College Fund/UNCF.
In addition to serving as a former board member for the National Retail Federation, Menswear Retailers of America and the National Conference of Christians and Jews, Mr. Siegel serves or has served on the boards of a number of local organizations, including the The Community Foundation, Richmond Forum, Virginia Racing Commission, University of Richmond, The Richmond SPCA and the Virginia Holocaust Museum. He is a founding board member of The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen, and Tredegar Trust Company.
Mr. Siegel was a member of the VCU Board of Visitors and formerly served as rector. He was also a member of the VCU Health System Board. The university’s convocation and recreation center, the Stuart C. Siegel Center, is named in honor of him. Mr. Siegel received the Edward A. Wayne Medal from VCU in 2013.
Mr. Siegel lives in Richmond with his wife, Dawn.
President, TowneBank of the Virginia Peninsula/Williamsburg
Ms. Alexis Swann is President of TowneBank of the Virginia Peninsula/Williamsburg area. She is the former Wells Fargo business banking manager for the eastern region of Virginia, and is the president of the peninsula market for the bank. She serves on the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation board, the Christopher Newport University School of Business Advisory board, the Newport News Police Foundation board and public service sorority Delta Sigma Theta. Ms. Swann was recently lauded with the 2019 Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities Humanitarian award. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Howard University in 1988 and her MBA from The College of William and Mary in 1993.
Shantaram Talegaonkar, M.D.
Dr. Shantaram K. Talegaonkar is a retired ophthalmologist who served the Hopewell community for more than 28 years at the Eye Clinic of Virginia, Petersburg Eye Center and Virginia Eye Institute. Dr. Talegaonkar’s professional history also includes several appointments and honors. In July 2016, Gov. Terry McAuliffe appointed him to the Virginia Commonwealth University Board of Visitors, and he has previously served on the Old Dominion Eye Bank Advisory Board, the Hindu Center of Virginia Board of Trustees, the Virginia Museum of Fine Art Multicultural Advisory Committee and Board of Trustees, as well as the Shepherd’s Center of Virginia Board of Trustees. Dr. Talegaonkar also served as chairman for the India Chair Initiative at VCU and received the Humanitarian Award from the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities.
Dr. Talegaonkar received both his M.B.B.S. and M.S. in ophthalmology from G.R. Medical College in Gwalior, India. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and is a diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Talegaonkar is married to Dr. Sunita Talegaonkar, a pediatrician, and they reside in Richmond, Va. They have three children, a son and two daughters.
