Conducting Research with Schools and Communities in the U.S. and Around the World to Facilitate Positive Adjustment in Youth and Families
The Prevention Research Lab is directed by Wendy Kliewer, Ph.D., in the Department of Psychology at VCU. Our lab is committed to mentoring VCU undergraduates in research; developing undergraduates as leaders; and honing the research, writing and presentation skills of graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and visiting scholars affiliated with the lab. Dr. Kliewer and her doctoral students teach PSYC 494: Prevention Research Internship each semester where together they work on a variety of prevention-oriented research projects.
Dr. Kliewer is a co-investigator on the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) study, the largest long-term study of brain development and child health in the United States.
