Psychology by the Numbers
Our department has the largest doctoral program at VCU and the second largest undergraduate major at VCU. We offer four Ph.D. programs: Clinical, Counseling, Health and Experimental (Developmental and Social). We have more than 1,700 undergraduate majors, 126 graduate students and 56 full-time faculty.
During fiscal year 2017, our faculty received more than $11.1 million in funding. The departmental funding portfolio is diverse with funding from the National Institutes of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Institute of Justice, the Department of Education’s Institute of Educational Sciences, the Templeton Foundation and other sources.
We are pleased to be a part of a transdisciplinary community of scholars who provide innovative practice-based and scientific solutions to challenges in urban environments. The Culture, Race and Health Transdisciplinary Core of the iCubed initiative addresses how culture and race/ethnicity impact health and overall well-being.
