The Capital News Service of the Robertson School of Media and Culture was featured on "This Week in Virginia," a weekly TV series about Virginia politics and issues hosted by David Bailey that airs on public broadcasting stations in Virginia. Journalism instructors Alix Bryan and Veronica Garabelli were interviewed along with student reporters Andrew Ringle, Ada Romano, and Brandon Shillingford.
Despite a challenging work environment due to COVID-19, Capital News Service published almost 70 stories through four journalism classes at the Robertson School: Capital News Service; Reporting for Print and Web; Mobile and Social Media Journalism and Specialized Project Reporting. Almost two dozen stories were picked up by The Associated Press and made it into national publications such as the Washington Post and U.S. News and World Report.
