Welcome to VCU’s Interdisciplinary Science Program. If you are interested in science and haven’t defined professional goals or are embarking upon a career uniquely different from the traditional major offerings, then the interdisciplinary science degree program may be for you!
The Interdisciplinary Sciences major provides students with a broad background in the physical and biological sciences. Interdisciplinary sciences offers concentrations in biology, chemistry, physics, and health and professional school preparation. The B.S. in Science provides a foundation for science oriented careers ranging from teaching and meteorology to research and technical sales. Flexibility is available within the curriculum for students to select specific courses to prepare them for careers or professional level training programs in the health sciences. Many students pursuing interdisciplinary sciences as a primary major have sufficient elective space to pursue a minor in another discipline.
