Interventions

VCU has developed three empirically substantiated interventions for persons with brain injury, their partners, and their families. Skill-building, education, and psychological support are foundations of the interventions. The Brain Injury Family Intervention (BIFI) addresses family needs identified by clinical research. The Therapeutic Couples Intervention (TCI) focuses on the unique challenges faced by couples. The Resilience and Adjustment Intervention (RAI) is centered on improving survivors' resilience and mitigating emotional distress.
