A native of Italy, Vera came to Richmond in 2004 and she joined the Department of World Studies as an Italian Instructor, and since 2008 she has been the coordinator of the Italian Language Courses.

Vera grew up in a small historical town in Italy, Fondi, situated half way between Rome and Naples, and completed her BA in Education in 2003 and her PhD in Education in 2011. Her academic interests range from European history and philosophy, to Italian as a second language, to social studies on school dispersal and students’ guidance.
