Fall 2020 writing support:

The Writing Center will open for the fall semester on Monday, August 24, 2020. In an effort to keep students and staff safe, we will offer all of our services online. If you still prefer to have an in-person appointment, we will have limited availability at our physical location, Academic Learning Commons (MCALC), room 4203, Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. All appointments must be made in advance, as there will be no drop-in hours.

Please note that the Center will be kept locked at all times, so you will need to call 804.828.4851 to let us know when you arrive for your scheduled appointment. You will check yourself in for all appointments, whether online or in-person via vcu.campus.eab.com. We ask that you wait in our lounge area until we let you know your consultant is ready to work with you. If possible, please do not arrive more than 15 minutes in advance of your appointment.

We kindly ask that everyone who enters the Writing Center adheres to VCU’s policy of wearing a mask or face covering and practices social distancing by staying 6 feet apart from staff and other students at all times. Our seating has been rearranged to ensure that proper distancing occurs.

Our call hours for questions or scheduling will also be Monday-Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. You can speak to a staff member with any questions or concerns you have during this time, as well. Outside of those hours you may schedule an appointment and email questions to writingctr1@vcu.edu. Please allow 24 hours for email responses.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate this challenging time together.
