After months of COVID-19 safety restrictions that allowed entry only to VCU students, staff and faculty, VCU Libraries buildings on both campuses are now open to all.
Friends of VCU Libraries, registered VCU alumni, individuals affiliated with other academic institutions and members of the general public engaged in academic pursuit or who are attending a VCU Libraries event are welcome.
Visitors should take note of these updates:
Unvaccinated people must wear face coverings in all library spaces.
Visitors may be asked before entry to confirm their understanding that unvaccinated individuals must wear face coverings while in the library.
Friends of VCU Libraries and registered alumni cardholders should be prepared to show their borrowing cards. If your card has expired or you are uncertain about your status, contact the libraries Development Office before visiting.
Newspaper and magazine subscriptions were suspended during the pandemic.
Front Door Pickup Service will be retired soon. Cardholders can access materials on library shelves, and ask for help if needed.
Food and drink are again allowed in library spaces. The Cabell Starbucks is closed for the summer.
Refer to the VCU Libraries website for these changes and further updates related to relaxing COVID-19 restrictions.
