Chris Rories

Fulbright ETA, 2015, Malaysia

 Chris Rories, from Vienna, Va., received his bachelor’s of arts degree in Middle Eastern studies and Islamic studies from VCU in 2012. During his time at VCU, Chris worked at the VCU World Studies Media Center and was a member of the Arabic Club and Model UN Club. As a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant, Rories will teach English in Malaysia. Outside of the classroom, Rories will create and facilitate a Model UN Club for his students, so that they may learn how global issues connect directly to their own lives and communities. Upon returning to the U.S., Rories will pursue a career in the State Department where he can apply his experiences to building and expanding educational and developmental partnerships between the US, Malaysia, other and Southeast Asian countries.
