Lindsey, a graduate of the honors college at VCU, is a recipient of the 2015 Fulbright ETA award. She will be teaching English at the University of Mohammed V in Rabat, Morocco. While there, she hopes to hone her skills as an educator with students in Morocco, and further apply these experiences to her teaching upon return to the United States.
Outside of the classroom she will work with children and adults in the community – through conversation clubs and pen pal programs– to expand interest in the English language as well as further promote mutual understanding. She also plans to study Moroccan Arabic while strengthening her fluency in French.
In addition to serving as a cultural ambassador upon return to the United States, she hopes to continue teaching ESL while pursuing the Cambridge Diploma of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (DELTA). She states, “I hope to give learners the confidence to pursue their dreams in and out of the classroom.”
