School Divisions Receiving Technical Assistance

These are the school divisions currently receiving Technical Assistance through VCU-ACE. You can learn about the division's vision, mission, and beliefs as well as see members of the Autism Services Improvement Team (ASIT). Each division has developed an ASIT consisting of individuals from different disciplines who have a vested interest in the education of students with ASD. Each team's composition varies; however, each member works towards goal implementation.

*In 2016, VCU's Autism Center for Excellence partnered the 15 school divisions within Superintendents' Region 1, known as the Autism Education Consortium (AEC), to enhance the existing professional development model and establish an innovative regional program that focused on keeping students with ASD in public schools and collaboratively supporting the return of students placed out-of-division into their home schools and communities. In 2019, the VDOE facilitated the replication of the regional autism consortium model in 15 school divisions within Superintendents' Region 6, known as the Autism Education Partnership (AEP). The approach instills the competent practice of applied behavior analysis into the public school professionals that support students with autism who require extensive educational and behavioral interventions.

**Leading Educators to Autism Resources and instruction at the Autism Center for Excellence (LEARN-ACE) supports selected divisions in developing and implementing an intensive professional development plan and goal setting structure using VCU-ACE online learning resources as well as distance and live strategic planning meetings and training.
