Office of Student Success

The Wilder School connects students from day one to make sure they have the resources they need to succeed. The Wilder School Office of Student Success provides student engagement and student success activities and opportunities for experiential learning that foster career development and academic excellence for Wilder School students.

We support internshipsfellowshipsscholarships, career opportunities, and outreach for partnerships within the government and public affairs professional community.

Make an appointment

Students may request a student success coaching appointment through the myVCU portal to plan, search, prepare for, and apply to professional, internship, and volunteer opportunities. OSS team members' availability will be listed in the online portal. If you have issues accessing the portal or need assistance, please  email wsinternship@vcu.edu

The Wilder School and VCU Career Services will provide an overview of how to navigate the federal job search process. We'll discuss USAJOBs, what to look for in the job announcements, and resources for writing a federal resume.

Fulbright Information Sessions:
 
The National Scholarship Office will offer several information sessions about the Fulbright U.S. Student Program, an award that provides funding for research, study, and teaching opportunities abroad. We have teamed up with the Wilder School to offer sessions that will provide information particularly relevant for students like you! Please join us on Tuesday, March 16 at 2pm--please register here! If you can't make this time, you are welcome to join us for any of our Fulbright information sessions this spring. The U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO), often called the "congressional watchdog,” is an independent, non-partisan agency that works for Congress will soon be hiring analysts!

Come learn more at the GAO Information Session this Thursday (March 25th) at 3 PM!
