This module will discuss the history leading up to the current opioid epidemic as well as the definition of the addictive process from a biological perspective.

Upon successful completion of this educational activity, participants will:

  1. Be able to describe the scope of the problem
  2. Be able to express understanding addiction process from a biological perspective

Registration Deadline: Registrations will be accepted on an ongoing basis. Each registrant will have 30 days/per clock hour to complete the module. Therefore if the module is worth one clock hour, the registrant has 30 days to complete it, and 60 days to complete a module worth 2 clock hours.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: Once enrolled, there are no cancellations/refunds.

Transfers: Registrations may be transferred to a different module or person if requested in writing via email at ocpe@vcu.edu within 24 hours after enrollment. The participant must meet all qualifications required by the program.

In the unlikely event that this program is cancelled or postponed due to insufficient enrollments or unforeseen circumstances, the university will fully refund registration fees, but cannot be held responsible for any other expenses, including change or cancellation charges to include but not limited to airlines, hotels, travel agencies, or other organizations.
