This course will provide an overview of suicide assessment including focus areas such as risk and resiliency factors. Twelve core principles of suicide assessment will be provided. A suicide assessment protocol will be discussed.

Upon successful completion of this educational activity, participants will:

  1. Understand the importance of a thorough suicide risk assessment when working with consumers
  2. Become familiar with risk factors and protective factors to assess for when working with consumers
  3. Understand 12 core principles of risk assessment
  4. Become familiar with SAMHSA's SAFE-T suicide assessment method


Meet the Faculty:
Registration Deadline: Registrations will be accepted on an ongoing basis. Each registrant will have 30 days/per clock hour to complete the module. Therefore if the module is worth one clock hour, the registrant has 30 days to complete it, and 60 days to complete a module worth 2 clock hours.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: Once enrolled, there are no cancellations/refunds.

Transfers: Registrations may be transferred to a different module or person if requested in writing via email at within 24 hours after enrollment. The participant must meet all qualifications required by the program.

In the unlikely event that this program is cancelled or postponed due to insufficient enrollments or unforeseen circumstances, the university will fully refund registration fees, but cannot be held responsible for any other expenses, including change or cancellation charges to include but not limited to airlines, hotels, travel agencies, or other organizations.
