Before I came to the US, my work was focused on the liver cancer treatment using living donor liver transplant and minimally invasive liver resection at the National Cancer Center in South Korea. I was a head researcher and staff surgeon between 2013 and 2017. I joined the clinical fellowship program at UVA in Charlottesville, Virginia to learn about the deceased donor transplantation. Currently, my main clinical interests are living donor or deceased donor liver transplant and liver resection for hepatocellular carcinoma patients. I completed my PhD in the study of liver regeneration using rodent partial hepatectomy model. My main interest for basic research is on making patient-derived orthotopic xenograft mouse models using hepatocellular carcinoma, liver regeneration using SCF and GM-CSF, and ICG based photodynamic therapy. To ?nd the novel treatment of liver cancer, I will work as a surgeon and scientist.
