My clinical subspecialization is in cytopathology and head and neck surgical pathology. My cancer related research includes: cytology-surgical pathology correlational studies with pre- and post-operative diagnosis for tumors of all body sites, salivary gland tumor classification according to the new and developing Milan System for reporting salivary gland cytopathology, the Bethesda System for reporting thyroid cytopathology, and rare neoplasms of the head and neck, and surgical staging of squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck. Additionally, I am the director of autopsy services at VCUH and could potentially bring autopsy related protocols to cancer related research protocols.
