Research description
Research in the Gewirtz laboratory is focused on the autophagy and senescence responses to chemotherapy and radiation in various tumor cell models. Our overall goals are to identify strategies for sensitization of malignancies to standard of care therapies via inhibition of cytoprotective autophagy and/or exposure to senolytics of senescent tumor cells.
