The National Scholarship Office (NSO) supports all VCU students — honors, non-honors, graduate and professional — as well as alumni who are interested in applying for prestigious national and international scholarships.

The NSO team provides advice, recommendations and guidance to help prospective applicants understand the often-overwhelming scholarship process.

In addition, the staff also works with current applicants to strengthen their applications, gather supplementary materials and prepare them for potential interviews.

Jeff Wing

Director, National Scholarship Office

Jeff Wing began as the National Scholarship Coordinator at VCU in July of 2005. In July of 2010, his title was changed to Director of the National Scholarship Office. In that role, Mr. Wing recruits VCU students and recent alumni to apply for a variety of nationally competitive scholarships and fellowships, works with the applicants to develop their proposals, and coordinates a large and growing group of VCU faculty, staff, alumni and community supporters to serve as critics and evaluators in an effort to help the candidates strengthen their applications.
