VCU has four philanthropic affiliated foundations. These entities are not part of the university but are separate 501c3s with their own boards and bylaws. They accept and invest gifts in support of the university.
College of Engineering Foundation
Founded in 1995, the VCU College of Engineering Foundation is organized exclusively for educational, scientific and charitable purposes and to provide financial and other support to VCU’s College of Engineering. Through teaching and research, the school creates knowledge and transforms ideas in engineering and the life sciences into technologies that enhance regional and global prosperity. School of Business Foundation
Created in March 2005, the VCU School of Business Foundation functions as a charitable foundation to assist, support and foster the activities and mission of the School of Business at VCU. It solicits, manages and distributes current and endowment gifts for all departments and programs in the school. The goal of the foundation is to provide the VCU School of Business with the resources it needs to educate and graduate highly motivated individuals for corporations and businesses in Richmond, the commonwealth and beyond.
The VCU Foundation is a nonprofit corporation that functions as a charitable foundation to assist, support and foster the university. It solicits, manages and distributes current and endowment gifts for all schools, departments and programs across the university with major emphasis on the Monroe Park Campus. The MCV Foundation was chartered in 1949 to inspire and steward philanthropy throughout VCU’s MCV Campus. It works in partnership with alumni and friends of the health sciences schools, MCV Hospitals and the Massey Cancer Center.
