Our team consists of VCU faculty and alumni from the Department of Rehabilitation Counseling in the College of Health Professions (ranked 4th among masters level rehabilitation and mental health counseling training programs in the nation by U.S. News & World Report), as well as other dedicated rehabilitation, mental health and addiction professionals from the Greater Richmond community. Together, these experienced professionals have compiled recent translational research and focused content into a wide selection of offerings to bolster your continuing education as behavioral health professionals.
Online, self-paced modules are open for registration through the VCU Office of Continuing and Professional Education. Topics include: Overview of Alcohol Use and Addiction, Deconstructing Bias and Stigma in Addiction, Opioid Epidemic, Transgender 101, Overview of LGBTQIA+, Suicide Risk Assessment, Trauma Basics, Codependency and Adult Children of Alcoholics (ACOA) – Part One, and Codependency and Adult Children of Alcoholics (ACOA) – Part Two.
We’re passionate about providing quality interdisciplinary programs at Virginia Commonwealth University. With a combined setting of professionals and community members, courses and events not only develop counselor skills, but also provide information to professionals in the law enforcement, education and health care fields, as well as to families and community members.
