Adjunct Professor of Keyboard
A native of Texas, Kristi Reynolds began her musical studies at the age of four. She earned a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance at East Texas State University (now Texas A&M University at Commerce) and a Master of Music degree in piano performance at Hardin-Simmons University. Her piano teachers include Jean Mainous, Michael Ard and Dan McAlexander. She furthered her studies with post-graduate coaching from Joseph Banowitz and Santiago Rodriguez. While at University of Richmond, she studied organ with Suzanne Bunting.
Ms. Reynolds has a wide and varied musical experience, from performing solo and chamber music in Texas and throughout the East Coast to accompanying and conducting both soloists and choirs. She taught at University of Richmond and Virginia Union University while playing the organ at various Richmond churches and running a studio of piano students before moving to the country to start a family. Besides working with the Williamsburg Choral Guild, she is the Artistic Director for the Middle Peninsula Chorale, the Music Director at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Miller’s Tavern, Virginia, and teaches piano and guitar in her home studio. She resides in King William County with her husband, Mike Styers, their two wonderful daughters, and a menagerie of pets.
