Bench to Community Educational Series
Translating New Ideas into Clinical Practice
A Virtual Introduction
Medical practitioners frequently identify clinical needs, new product ideas, and enhanced methodologies for improving diagnosis, treatment, and patient care. Physicians, surgeons, nurses, engineers, and others can benefit from learning about steps involved in translating their innovations and discoveries into clinical practice.
The AY21-22 Bench to Community series addresses topics in the early-stages of translational development activities toward ultimate deployment into broad clinical practice. Topics include company formation, STTR and SBIR grants, presenting to investors, building a business-oriented team, using consultancies for special tasks, managing conflict of interest, and other topics. Registration for each session and topic is available below. CME credit is available for physicians, PAs, and nurses. Recordings of the 2020-2021 topics are available via the links below.
If you have a topic idea for a future seminar, or if you would like to report an error in our content, please contact: Laura Osborne, Program Coordinator, email@example.com, 804-828-0349
Hosted by the VCU Institute for Engineering and Medicine, The C. Kenneth and Dianne Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research, and VCU Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation.
