How do I develop a custom simulation course?

Cheryl Bodamer or Kristen Canipe, our Simulation Educators, can assist you through this process. The first step is to assemble a list of learning objectives, and we will assist you in designing a course to meet them. Your course may contain a variety of scenarios and/or skill sessions.

How do I design a scenario?

Cheryl Bodamer or Kristen Canipe, our Simulation Educators, can assist you through this process. With their help, you can determine the most effective methods for using our resources to meet your curricular objectives.

How do I request a reservation?

If you are interested in requesting a reservation, please complete the online form and a member of our team will be in contact. You may also contact Liz Fredericksen-Trent, our Division Administrator, or Chase Shaffer, our Program Coordinator, and they can assist you.

What does it cost to conduct my course in the Center?

There are many factors that contribute to the cost of using the center. Contact Liz Fredericksen-Trent, our Division Administrator, and she can walk you through your options.

Inclement Weather Policy

The Center follows VCU's operating schedule. If VCU does have a delayed opening or school closing, then confirmed sessions will need to be rescheduled. We will contact you if your session needs to be rescheduled. For questions or concerns, please contact Liz Fredericksen-Trent, our Division Administrator. COVID-19 Information

Due to COVID-19 precautions, our Center is operating under limited room occupancy capacity and require personal protection equipment (PPE) to be worn, at all time. Our Center VCU COVID-19 policy.

We have 5 rooms that will accommodate up to 6 people each. Please contact Liz Fredericksen-Trent, our Operations Manager or Chase Shaffer, our Program Coordinator, for room availability.

Our Education Specialists, Cheryl Bodamer and Kristin Canipe, will help you design your session to fit within our COVID precaution guidelines.

PPE guidelines require that ASTM Level 3 masks be worn at all times. A 6 foot social distance radius is required when on campus. Face shields must be worn when in session and when the 6 foot radius is and will be broken during a simulation.

We reserve the right to halt a simulation when COVID-19 safety practices are not being adhered to.
