Temporary academic regulation: Student absence due to COVID-19

Dear VCU faculty and students,

In order to provide flexibility due to the unprecedented challenges we are facing this academic year, VCU is instituting a temporary academic regulation, “Student absence due to COVID-19.”

This temporary regulation provides guidance for students who are required to enter quarantine or isolation due to COVID-19, as well as direction to students, faculty and advisors on how to best ensure continuity of learning during extended excused absences.

Please thoroughly read the full text of the “Student absence due to COVID-19” regulation, as well as the frequently asked questions found on the Office of the Provost website.

This temporary regulation is effective for the 2020-21 academic year (fall, spring and summer), and applies to all students: undergraduate, graduate and professional.
