With most students finishing the end of the semester virtually, employees who remain working on campus will need their VCU identification card to access campus facilities Nov. 25 through Jan. 24. As a reminder, employees who are able to successfully telework should telework; designated employees and employees who must report to campus to perform their work may continue to report to campus. Managers and employees should work together now to make necessary adjustments to staffing plans for after the Thanksgiving break.
The Virginia Department of Health published guidance for students and employees who are returning home for holidays or extended breaks. The guidance provides considerations about the risk of COVID-19, ways to minimize exposure before leaving, COVID-19 testing, travel, activities while at home and prevention steps.
The Division of Student Affairs has created a department operations blog with information on which buildings and services will be operational during fall break, final exams and winter break and the weeks leading up to the start of classes for the spring semester. The blog will be updated ongoing when changes are made. For specific hours of operation, it is always best to visit the department’s website directly for up-to-date information.
As a reminder, students and employees must continue to monitor their health and complete daily health checks.
