Administrative Systems Business Intelligence Analytics

Our Responsibilities

The Business Intelligence Analytics team is responsible for the Ellucian Banner Operational Data Store (ODS), supporting and maintaining custom data objects within the ODS and security access to ODS data. We also support and maintain centralized reporting off of the ODS via the VCU Reporting Center and SAS Visual Analytics (VA) dashboards and reports, including the Research Dashboard and Finance Dashboard. 

In conjunction with the Administrative Systems Infrastructure team, we manage security access and help provide support for the underlying SAS platforms and tools used in the Reporting Center and SAS Visual Analytics dashboards and reports: SAS Enterprise BI (EBI), SAS Information Delivery Portal (IDP), SAS Enterprise Guide (EG), SAS Management Console (SMC), SAS Data Integration Studio (DIS), and SAS Stored Processes.

We also maintain the custom ODS Person Database (PDB), which provides a single-row perspective of students, employees, affiliates, and the VCU Health System.  The Person Database provides data to Email, Parking, and Telecommunications systems.
