The Infrastructure Services Network Operations Center (NOC) provides continuous monitoring and proactive management to support the University's academic, research, and administrative missions.
- Core Network & Infrastructure Monitoring
- 24/7/365 monitoring and management of campus network backbone, data center infrastructure, and public cloud connectivity.
- Rapid incident response and resolution for network and infrastructure disruptions, leveraging advanced diagnostic tools.
- Cloud Infrastructure Support
- Monitoring and management of VCU's private, public, and hybrid cloud environment, ensuring seamless integration and performance.
- Support for continuous and proactive monitoring of cloud-based services and applications, including identity and learning management, storage, and collaboration platforms.
- Research Computing Enablement
- Provisioning and management of high-bandwidth network connectivity for research clusters and data transfer.
- Support for specialized network configurations and protocols required for scientific computing and data analysis.
The Network Operations Center (NOC) staff interfaces with technical staff from various groups who require staff at our on-premise data center facilities to interface directly with their equipment.
