Move/Reboot/Reset an Avaya 4600 Set
PLEASE NOTE:

The instructions listed below can be used to move your 4600 series set to another location that is equipped for 4600 series sets. However, if we need to dispatch a technician to correct any errors, you will be charged $150.00. You can submit a request for VCU Telecommunications to move your set for $25.00/set.
- Log-Off if moving the set to a new location that is equipped with a computer jack.
- Press the Options button.
- Look for the "Log-off" option on the display. If not in the window press the Page Right key until it appears
- Press the "Log-off" feature button
- Press "yes" when prompted "Do You Want to Log Off"?
- Unplug the phone from the computer jack.
- Plug the phone into the computer jack at its new location. (computer plugs into the back of the phone)
- As the telephone begins to reboot
- Watch the display for the prompt press * to program.
- Press *
- Press the # key seven (7) times
- Display will prompt for the VLAN ID.
- Enter (4 digit VLAN ID) and press the # key.
- if you do not know your VLAN ID, go to https://www.pubapps.vcu.edu/ePhones/viewVLAN.asp
- Log in using your eid and password.
- Select your building and floor.
- Click submit.
- if you do not know your VLAN ID, go to https://www.pubapps.vcu.edu/ePhones/viewVLAN.asp
- Enter (4 digit VLAN ID) and press the # key.
- The display will read VLANTEST=0, press the # key.
- The screen will prompt, Save New Values?
- Press # for yes
- The display will read Restarting.
- When the reboot is complete, the display will read “Avaya 46XX IP Telephone with a prompt to Enter Extension and Press #”.
- Enter your 5-digit extension and press #
- Display will prompt Enter Password (password is your 5 digit extension) and Press #
If The Reset/Reboot Process does Not Work
- Press the “Mute” button
- Enter 73738 (spells RESET) on the telephone keypad
- Press the # key
- At the Reset Values prompt, press the # key (for a Yes response)
- At the Are you sure prompt, press the # key (for Yes response)
- You will hear a tone, and the message waiting light will flicker.
- The telephone begins the reboot cycle.
- Go to step 1 at the top of the page and proceed through 5.3 to complete the reboot/reset process.
