Mplus
Description: Mplus is a statistical modeling program that provides researchers with a flexible tool to analyze their data.
Platform: Access from Windows, Mac, or Linux
Cost: No Charge (Access via App2Go Server)
Overview
Mplus offers researchers a wide choice of models, estimators, and algorithms in a program that has an easy-to-use interface and graphical displays of data and analysis results. Mplus allows the analysis of both cross-sectional and longitudinal data, single-level and multi-level data, and data that come from different populations with either observed or unobserved heterogeneity. Analyses can be carried out for observed variables that are continuous, censored, binary, ordered categorical (ordinal), unordered categorical (nominal), counts, or combinations of these variable types. Mplus also has special features for missing data, complex survey data, and multi-level data. Also, Mplus has extensive capabilities for Monte Carlo simulation studies, where data can be generated and analyzed according to any of the models included in the program.
License Information
Mplus is only available on the App2Go Server for use by researchers. Mplus is not a server-based application; therefore, only one license of Mplus is available for use.
App2Go Access or Purchase
Mplus is available on the App2Go Server without the need to purchase or install the application on your computer. A purchasing option is available for those who wish to install a personal copy on their computer.
Use Mplus on the App2Go Server
Using a Windows, Mac, or Linux computer, you are able to access Mplus via a browser window. Although Mplus runs on the App2Go Server, it appears to be running on your PC. You can open, save, and print files from your PC. Applications on the App2Go server are available to support research projects and are not intended for instructional use.
Only current VCU faculty, staff, and students may access Mplus on the App2Go Server. Documentation on how to use the App2Go Server will provide you details such as system requirements, installation, opening files, saving files, and printing.
