JMP Overview

JMP Pro is statistical discovery software a SAS product that performs simple and complex analysis. It dynamically links statistics with graphics to interactively explore, understand, and visualize data.   JMP Pro also includes advanced analytic techniques for data mining and predictive modeling. JMP Pro is for both 32/64-bit operating systems (Windows & Mac) and replaces JMP standard.

JMP License Information

  • VCU Technology Services has obtained a JMP Academic Suite site license from SAS, Inc for JMP.  This JMP is subject to the following conditions:
    • Can ONLY be installed on computers owned by VCU or owned by current VCU students, faculty, and staff.
    • Can ONLY be used by current VCU students, faculty, and staff.
    • Can ONLY be used for purposes of VCU academic instruction and/or VCU academic research.  Any other use is prohibited, including use for:
      • VCU administrative purposes
      • any VCUHS purposes
      • any McGuire VAMC purposes
  • In addition, five (5) concurrent use licenses of JMP Pro available for use on the App2Go Server.

  • Funding for this site license has been provided by the Schools of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Public Health and by Technology Services.

Use JMP Pro on the App2Go Server

Using a Windows, Mac or Linux computer, you are able to access JMP Pro via a browser window.  Although JMP Pro runs on the App2Go Server, it appears to be running on your PC.  You can open, save and print files from your PC.  Applications on the App2Go server are available to support research projects and are not intended for instructional use.

Current VCU faculty, staff and students may access JMP Pro on the App2Go Server for research. Documentation on how to use of the App2Go Server will provide you details such as system requirements, installation, opening files, saving files and printing. 

JMP Updates

The updates available below introduce new features and fix known problems in earlier releases, and you are strongly encouraged to download and apply them.  To determine your version of JMP, launch JMP and display the Help menu (Windows) or the JMP menu (Mac), then select About JMP.

JMP Pro 13.2 update for Windows  (apply only to JMP Pro 13 for Windows):

  1. This update will convert an existing installation of JMP 13.0 or 13.1 to JMP 13.2.1.
  2. Ensure that JMP is NOT running (if it is, close it).
  3. Download the JMP_1321_PRO_Updater.exe update file to your desktop or other folder.
  4. Right-click on on the downloaded file and select "Run as administrator".
  5. In the ensuing window, click the Setup button.
  6. Follow the on-screen prompts to install the JMP Pro 13.2 update.

JMP Pro 13.2 update for Mac  (apply only to JMP Pro 13 for Mac):

  1. This update will convert an existing installation of JMP 13.0 or 13.1 to JMP 13.2.0.
  2. Ensure that JMP is NOT running (if it is, close it).
  3. Download the JMP_1320_PRO_Updater.dmg update file to your desktop or other folder.
  4. Double-click on on the downloaded file.
  5. Follow the on-screen prompts to install the JMP Pro 13.2 update.

JMP Pro 12.2 update for Windows  (apply only to JMP Pro 12 for Windows):

  1. This update will convert an existing installation of JMP 12.0 or JMP 12.1 to JMP 12.2.
  2. Ensure that JMP is NOT running (if it is, close it).
  3. Download the JMP_1220_PRO_Updater.exe update file to your desktop or other folder.
  4. Right-click on on the downloaded file and select "Run as administrator".
  5. In the ensuing window, click the Setup button.
  6. Follow the on-screen prompts to install the JMP Pro 12.2 update.

JMP Pro 12.2 update for Mac  (apply only to JMP Pro 12 for Mac):

  1. This update will convert an existing installation of JMP 12.0 or JMP 12.1 to JMP 12.2.
  2. Ensure that JMP is NOT running (if it is, close it).
  3. Download the JMP-1220-PRO-Updater.dmg update file to your desktop or other folder.
  4. Double-click on on the downloaded file.
  5. Follow the on-screen prompts to install the JMP Pro 12.2 update.

Renew or Register a JMP License

JMP licenses expire annually on January 30 and must be renewed for JMP to continue to run on your computer.

The licenses available below expire January 30, 2018 (plus a 90-day grace period):

If you are still using JMP 10 - please upgrade to JMP 13.
