      X-Win32

      Software Description: StarNet's X-Win32 is X-Windows software used to connect Windows PCs to remote Unix and or Linux host systems. X-Win32 is available through a site license agreement with StarNet Communications.

      Platform: Windows

      Cost: No charge for current VCU faculty, staff, and students

       

       

      Requirements

      • System Requirements
      • X-Win32 does not provide FTP or SFTP capability.
      • Off-campus usage:
        • You must first establish a VCU VPN session.
        • X-Win32 is only recommended for off-campus use if:
          • You have cable or fiber internet service
          • You are accessing a VCU system
          • The host computer being connected to is not blocked for X-Windows

      Installation 

      • Installation Instructions  -  X-Win32

      License

      • The license permits current VCU faculty, staff and students to install X-Win32 for University teaching, research or administrative use. The license agreement prohibits distribution of copies to anyone else for any other purpose. Licenses distributed expire annually on 2/28.
