Software Description: StarNet's X-Win32 is X-Windows software used to connect Windows PCs to remote Unix and or Linux host systems. X-Win32 is available through a site license agreement with StarNet Communications.

Cost: No charge for current VCU faculty, staff, and students

System Requirements
X-Win32 does not provide FTP or SFTP capability.
Off-campus usage:
- You must first establish a VCU VPN session.
- X-Win32 is only recommended for off-campus use if:
  - You have cable or fiber internet service
  - You are accessing a VCU system
  - The host computer being connected to is not blocked for X-Windows

License

The license permits current VCU faculty, staff and students to install X-Win32 for University teaching, research or administrative use. The license agreement prohibits distribution of copies to anyone else for any other purpose. Licenses distributed expire annually on 2/28.
