Renew Your SAS License
The renewal of SAS licenses must be completed annually. SAS licenses expire on June 30 of each year. There is a 30 grace period through September 28.
To renew your SAS license, you must download and apply a new "SID file" (SAS Information Data File). See the download links below.
Failure to renew before September 29 each year will result in SAS not running on your PC.
(Note: If you are using SAS 9.3, you may want to upgrade to SAS 9.4.)

To download the SID file required for renewing your SAS software, select the link below that matches your version of SAS. Be sure to choose the correct link, there is a different SID file for each operating system and each version of SAS -- and for Teaching and Research use and Administrative use. When you use the links below to obtain the SID renewal file, instructions will applying it will be sent to your VCU email.

To determine what version of SAS you are running
- Launch SAS.
- The SAS Log window will contain NOTEs, which dispay the version number and the operating system platform.
Find your license expiration date
To determine when your SAS software will expire, submit the following SAS program:
PROC SETINIT;
RUN;
Note: SAS will continue to run during the 90 day grace period beyond the expiration date that is displayed.
