      Request a Terminalfour account

      1. Complete the required training

Before you can gain access to VCU's web content management system, Terminalfour, you must complete some required training. This will help you familiarize yourself with web accessibility and the Terminalfour platform to ensure you're ready to go once you gain access to a website.

1.1 Accessibility Fundamentals for the Web

The course by Siteimprove provides a high-level overview of modern web accessibility.

To access the course, begin by signing into siteimprove.vcu.edu using your VCU eID and password. Your initial login will establish your Siteimprove account.

Only after login can you directly navigate to the course on Siteimprove Frontier. Alternatively, access this course and others from siteimprove.vcu.edu using the dropdown menu on the upper right titled Help Center and training then continuing to Training & certifications.

      1.2 VCU Web 200

The VCU Web 200 is an in-house course to guide users through the specifics of VCU's Terminalfour instance as well as provide instructions on how to use the Terminalfour platform in general.

To get started, simply self-enroll to the course via Canvas.

      2. Request access

After completing the required training, you can request access to a website in different ways depending on if it exists or not.

      2.1 To an existing website

Have the site owner submit a help request to grant your access. If you are a site owner, be sure to include the level of access and website URL(s) for each user you're requesting access for.

      2.2 To a new website

Use the Web Space Request Form to request a new Terminalfour website. Be sure to specify that you would like to use the university CMS and if you don't plan on developing a site from scratch, specify that you want to use the standard template (which is Compass).
